Master Groomers and Advocates for Feline Wellbeing

We Believe…

  • All cats are individual beings and not possessions, objects, or property.
  • As cat groomers, we have a moral responsibility to care for them in a manner that ensures their long-term health and well-being in mind, body, and spirit.
  • Cats need positive grooming experiences and environment. Cat’s Pajamas does not provide services that evoke fear or pain, nor diminish the dignity, instinctive behaviour, or natural needs of cats.

We aren’t the cat groomers for everyone….

We’re incredibly grateful for our loyal, engaged clients-your trust and glowing reviews mean the world to us! 😻 There’s nothing better than seeing happy cats and happy humans. Occasionally, though, we do receive a less-than-stellar review-not because of our service, but because we sometimes have to say “no.” Our priority is always the well-being and comfort of your cat, even if that means declining requests that don’t align with our feline-first philosophy. If you take a peek at our core values, you’ll understand why we make the choices we do!

Education is at the heart of everything we do. There’s a lot of confusion out there about what’s best for cats, especially when it comes to grooming. That’s why we never shave unnecessarily, cut whiskers, pin down or scruff, dye, dino-trim, or do anything that could harm or stress our feline friends. We believe every cat deserves gentle, respectful care that matches their unique needs and experience.

We’re also committed to kindness and respect-both for our team and our clients. We have a zero-tolerance policy for rudeness, intimidation, or discrimination of any kind. Positive, respectful interactions help us create a safe, welcoming space for everyone-two-legged and four-legged alike!

Thank you for understanding and helping us make our grooming studio a happy, safe haven for cats.

Community Partnerships

Cats in foster care have a much higher and faster rate of successful adoption if they are clean and happy. Since 2013, Cat’s Pajamas has had a partnership with the Ottawa Stray Cat Rescue. We contribute monthly free grooming to fostered cats. We help cats find their forever home!

We’re also a regular sponsor of the Ottawa Valley Cat Club Show each September.

Recycling

We recycle our dirty cat hair quarterly. Our waste by-product is sent to a global biopharmaceutical company specializing in allergen immunotherapy products and services.

Cat allergies are the most common type of pet allergies. Contrary to common belief, what triggers allergies isn’t the actual fur. It is the protein deposited on the cat’s fur which is produced by the skin of felines.  This protein is also present in their saliva, urine, tears and dander. Having your cat regularly bathed and combed greatly reduces allergic reactions.
